| Job Description |
The Lighting and Compositing Artist is responsible for creating and implementing the lighting and look for animated episodic work, including shading, lighting, rendering, and compositing. Research, develop, and implement techniques when necessary.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lighting, rendering, and Compositing shots in a TV production environment
- Problem solve issues and debugging of scenes and comp scripts
- Participate as a team member in determining various aesthetic and technical solutions

| Requirements |
- BA/BS or equivalent degree or diploma in computer visualization or computer animation or relevant work experience
- BfA/BS in art or design or relevant understanding of colour theory, composition, lighting, aesthetics and how these apply to lighting and rendering in 3d
- Ability to plan and execute complex 3d lighting scenes including working with layers and passes, doing complex comps and optimizing scenes and renders
- Some photography experience a plus (understanding of compoisition, photography terms like depth of field, FOV, aperture, exposure, dynamic range)
- Minimum 3 years experience using high-end 3D software (Maya, XSI, 3dsMax Renderman, Mental Ray);
- Working experience with compositing software (Shake, Nuke, Combustion, AfterEffects or similar);
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal)
- Passion for Film and Animation
- Resume, demo reel required.
- Demo reel should display a firm artistic understanding of Light, and Composition. We will require a shot breakdown listing jobs performed for each shot.
